During my time in Madeira, I participated in more than twenty field expeditions focused on cetacean monitoring and marine biotechnology research.
The work combined boat-based surveys, photo-identification campaigns, biological sampling and laboratory support activities. These expeditions provided a unique opportunity to understand how scientific fieldwork operates in real marine environments where weather, logistics and timing continuously shape decision-making.
Beyond data collection, the experience strengthened my understanding of teamwork, operational planning and the connection between marine conservation and applied research.
